A Chicopee establishment since 1939
In 1936, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Kozial started the business as a cafe serving beer and wine. It was known as the Post Office Cafe due to the close proximity of the Chicopee Post Office.
In 1939 the name was changed to the Collegian Cafe with a complete liquor license, and was known as a popular eating and drinking establishment. Then in 1954 the restaurant was sold to the owners’ daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Tenczar. After renovating and enlarging, the restaurant name was changed to the Collegian Court.
Now, the restaurant enjoyed not only the public approval as a popular eating and drinking establishment, but also catered to the many banquets of the area’s residents.
In 1981 the Collegian Court was sold to a Chicopee Family, Henry and Dorothy Szpara and their sons, Gary and David.
With a fresh breath into the area’s flagship restaurant, the Collegian Court
continues to uphold the hospitality of the family owned restaurant, started by Mr. and Mrs. Kozial.
